May 04, 2011'Mutual recognition' policy could force EU nations to recognize same-sex unions
April 30 was the deadline for citizens of the European Union to make their voices and heard with regard to the recent European Commission drive to introduce “automatic mutual recognition” of public documents in all EU states.
Although the measure was promoted as a commendable move to reduce bureaucracy by harmonizing the recognition of public documents across borders, this step might also result in forcing recognition of same-sex marriages, civil unions, and the corresponding adoption rights in all EU member-states, noted European Dignity Watch (EDW). EU nations could find themselves under an obligation to recognize same-sex unions even if their own national laws forbid such recognition.

Enforced EU-wide recognition of same-sex marriage?
The European Christian Political Foundation (www.ecpf.info) wants to draw your attention to a report done by European Dignity Watch (www.europeandignitywatch.org) on a new proposal from the European Commission regarding the automatic recognition of civil status documents that could lead to a situation in which the EU member states will no longer define marriage.
Instead, member states could be forced to recognize forms of “marriage”, civil partnerships, same-sex adoption and other practices, even if these contradict their national laws and public order.

February 24, 2011 by Brian HuttEU expresses ‘profound concern’ over violence towards Christians
The statement was issued after the Foreign Affairs Council Meeting in Brussels yesterday.
The foreign ministers said: “The Council expresses its profound concern about the increasing number of acts of religious intolerance and discrimination, as epitomised by recent violence and acts of terrorism, in various countries, against Christians and their places of worship, Muslim pilgrims and other religious communities, which it firmly condemns.
“Regrettably, no part of the world is exempt from the scourge of religious tolerance.”
The ministers expressed their condolences and “solidarity” with the countries where religious violence was being experienced, as well as the victims.
They went on to affirm the EU’s “strong commitment” to the promotion and protection of religious freedom and called upon states to protect citizens, including members of religious minorities.

February 22, 2011 by Marco RespintiEuropa, ecco il nuovo fronte anticristiano
